The Parents Update is a biannual publication that is sent out to the parents of current Gallatin students. I designed both of these brochures keeping previous editions of the publication in mind and adhering to Gallatin style guides. The overall design process was quite straight forward, the major challenge mainly being communication with the various departments who had materials and information to contribute. There were countless edits and keeping track of who had QA’d.
For the Spring 2020 edition, it was important to the school that we keep the design mellow, relaxing, serene, but not too up-beat (given the upsetting and chaotic state of the world when this went out in April). I chose to work in soft, muted colors, reminiscent of sunrise hues. This also had to be a digital publication, so I inserted hyperlinks throughout so it could be a clickable PDF.
