My mom used to sing a song to me as a baby that went, “Delphinium, Delphinium, my sweetheart Delphinium, the queen of the star-dust babies.” My father, who has been known to be quite the troll, altered the lyrics to, “Delphinium, Delphinium, my sweetheart Delphinium, the queen of the tattooed ladies.” My mother was not very enthused about this alteration, and I remember it being a constant debate in my “lullabied childhood.”

My name is Delphine Allegra Lazar. Directly translated I am: a dolphin who is joyous and also a bit of a little gargoyle. This is frighteningly accurate and once again shows my mother’s uncanny ability to predict and be correct about everything in life.

I design, create, and write, all with my own joyous-gargoyle-dolphin twist.
